An MA thesis debated at the Jordan Media Institute (JMI) has concluded that coverage of violence is a key part of daily news content on a number of Jordanian news websites. The coverage reached around 28.8% of the items that they published.

JMI Develops Curriculum for Child Journalism

The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) held a consultative meeting with a group of academics and journalists who are specialized in children to develop a teaching curriculum based on protecting children from violence. The curriculum is primarily meant for university students.

Al-Momani at JMI: 80% of Negative Comments in Crises Are From Abroad

Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, minister of state for media affairs, said that 80% of negative comments in some crises come from outside the Kingdom, with the aim of instigating public opinion and exporting chaos. He said that the government deals with these external messages wisely, noting that there are false stories that are published in some external newspapers. We know their objectives, sources, and the parties that stand behind them, he said.

'Video Journalism' Course at Jordan Media Institute

A video journalism course for a number of employees of the General Iftaa Department began at the Jordan Media Institute. This is part of a cooperation program to train and build the capacities of the staff of the Iftaa Department in communication and media skills.

JMI Conducts 50 Training Programs in 2017

The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) has achieved an increase in the number of its training programs and participants in them in 2017 compared with 2016. The JMI organized 50 training programs, benefiting around 1,566 participants, in 2017, compared with 20 training programs, benefiting 379 participants, in 2016, according to the JMI's annual training and capacity building report.
