Within the Australian project "The Foreign Correspondent," a group of journalism and media students (MA and BA) from Swinburne University in Melbourne and University of Technology Sydney visited the Jordan Media Institute (JMI). A conversation with JMI students was organized.

Dr. Saba Bebawi from University of Technology Sydney said that this project was funded by the Australian Press Council, which is affiliated with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs. It was launched last year. She said that the idea of the project was to meet students outside Australia and get to know the Arab media for two weeks, especially in areas that are difficult for students at Australian universities to learn.

Najat Dajani, Jordanian program coordinator, said that the aim of the visit of Australian students to Jordan was to get to know the life of journalists outside the borders of Australia. She noted that during their visit to Jordan, the students would cover a number of scientific, health, and social subjects in Jordan. These will be broadcast in Australian media over a whole month and in cooperation with SPS, an Australian media firm.
