Amman - The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) announces the acceptance of admission applications for its “Journalism and New Media Master’s Program” of the academic year 2019-2020, as of Monday until the end of June 2019.
JMI offers full and partial scholarships to both Jordanian and Arab students who hold a first university degree (BA) in any academic specializations.

JMI Dean Dr. Basim Tweissi explained that the MA program is “designed to meet the rising need for media professionals through enriching their cultural knowledge and advancing their applied skills, which matches JMI’s belief in the importance of the role that journalists and media outlets play in serving and developing their communities when providing credible and accurate information.”

Tweissi pointed out that JMI’s Master's program depends on intensive teaching and is offered as part of two tracks, comprehensive examination and academic thesis. JMI has an academic agreement with the University of Jordan, in which the University grants the certificates and degrees to graduates of JMI’s Master's program.

Throughout its ten years of achievement and excellence in media training and education, JMI integrated and corresponded between applied and theoretical methods in its academic programs along with communication technology and digital applications to follow the pace of the significant progress in the field of media and journalism, Tweissi added.

The institute also organizes annual scientific and academic trips to a number of countries, including Lebanon, Germany, Norway, India and others, which results in developing and increasing the media experience gained by the students and allows them a firsthand and diverse interaction with the participating journalists from these countries.

Students earn the MA in Journalism and New Media after successfully completing 33 credit hours. The program is divided into two tracks: Comprehensive Examination students earn the MA degree after one year, while the minimum period of study is one and a half years for Thesis Track students with 9 credit hours devoted to the thesis.

It is noteworthy that about 93% of JMI graduates are working in the field of media, both inside and outside the Kingdom.

Students who wish to enroll and benefit from scholarships can apply directly at JMI premises, located behind the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, or online through the website’s application form. Samples of previous admission tests along with the Program’s information are also available on JMI’s website.
