Amman, 24 January (JMI) -- The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) conducted a three-day training workshop on filing field radio reports for the staff of Tafileh Radio and Kerak Radio, in partnership with the program for supporting media in Jordan, implemented by UNESCO and funded by the EU. Yasar Durra , director of training and projects at JMI, said that the participants filed high-quality field reports at the end of the training workshop, having received intensive training on theoretical and practical aspects. <br />

Durra said that the training program included introduction to the work methodology, how to build the executive plan for preparing field reports, and the importance of including the element of humanization in these reports and reflecting an audio picture to listeners. This is in addition to the skills of writing reports on topical affairs in the form of news stories that are fit for broadcasting. <br />

JMI has developed a training plan for building the capacities of staff at seven community radios taking part in the project "Building the Capacities of Local Radios" in line with an assessment study conducted by a team of experts with the aim of achieving concrete benefit for the community radios that would reflect on their performance through enhancing the capacities of their staff. Some 150 people are expected to benefit from the program. <br />

The proposed courses within the plan include a number of key topics, such as field radio reports, morning shows, news, documentaries, variety shows, and others. <br />
