Its headquarters are located in the Library of Alexandria building in Alexandria, Egypt. The foundation brings together civil society actors and individuals from all sides of the Mediterranean, with the goal of building more inclusive and empathetic societies that are able to adapt to combat growing distrust and polarization. The foundation also works to build trust and increase mutual understanding by strengthening dialogue and facilitating contact between different parties.
It is notable that the foundation also appointed a European individual (Josep Ferré) as Executive Director, after the passing of Nabil Al-Sharif, who held the position from November 7th, 2018 until his death on March 6th, 2021.
