Jordan Media Institute and the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

Amman, 15 April 2013 A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today by Jordan Media Institute (JMI) and the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority (FCMA). The MoU aims to build a partnership and a professional alliance to share experiences and contribute in spreading awareness on the importance of independent Journalism, while also developing journalists’ performance through training on writing, photography skills and reporting on society’s pressing issues in a transparent and accurate manner. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of HRH Princess Rym Ali, JMI founder, who expressed her support and wishes for this cooperation to contribute in recruiting more students for the Master’s Program in Journalism and New Media and the media training workshops. HRH Princess Rym Ali is also participating in the Fourth Fujairah Media Forum organized by the FCMA entitled “Journalism Credibility and Misinformation” today the 15th and tomorrow the 16th of April 2013. According to the MoU JMI will coordinate specialized training workshops on Media and Journalism including writing and reporting for TV and Radio in cooperation with the FCMA. On the other hand, FCMA will conduct the acceptance exams for the students from Fujairah chosen by JMI to take the acceptance exams for enrollment in the Master’s program. JMI has started the admission process since last March and will continue accepting applications till mid June 2013.
