Opportunities to Participate in "TRT Network" Fellowship Program

  • The Turkish TRT network announces the opening of its Fellowship Program for TRT Arabi and TRT World. The purpose of the Fellowship Program is to engage people who want to get to know the perspective of TRT World and TRT Arabi, keep up with the most up-to-date changes in the media industry and improve their understanding of Turkish culture.
  • Target participants: Young journalists and new graduates who wish to train to acquire the expertise and professional skills needed to produce news stories with a human dimension.
  • Details of the fellowship program: Fellows will spend two months (starting from 17/6/2019 until 10/8/2019) with the TRT World and TRT Arabi. 
  • Key Skills, Experience and Education:
    • Proficient English language speaker (TRT World).
    • Proficient Arabic and English speaker (TRT Arabi).
    • A recent graduate from university from related majors.
    • Interested in international journalism.
    • Commitment to engagement in the related fields.
    • Critical, strategic thinking, intellectual, and analytical skills.
    • Fellows show interest in the Turkish culture and history.
    • Interest in migration, security, international relations, and media.

  • The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) is pleased to launch the Call for Applications for the 2019 edition of its Fellowship Program. The theme of the Fellowship in 2019 is "The role of women in peacemaking and conflict prevention".

Call for Applications to Participate in "Alexandria Media Forum"

  • The Alexandria Establishment for Culture and Touristic Development has launched the Call for Applications for the 2019 edition of its "Alexandria Media Forum". The theme of the forum in 2019 is "Media Information Literacy and Sustainable Development".
  • The forum will be held in Cairo between 18–20 April 2019.
  • Target participants: journalists in local and regional media outlets, Citizen journalists, media entrepreneurs, media professionals, and final-year students from media colleges and institutes from all over the Arab world.

Training opportunities on "Facebook Journalism"

  • Jordan Media Institute (JMI) and the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) hold four training courses on "Facebook Journalism" sponsored by "Facebook Journalism Project", with a focus on storytelling, verification, account security and interaction with the public.
  • Training workshops dates:
    • First workshop: Saturday 9/2/2019.
    • Second workshop: Sunday 10/2/2019.
    • Third workshop: Saturday 16/2/2019.
    • Fourth workshop: Sunday 17/2/2019.
  • Target participants: journalists and activists on social media and interested professionals.

Opportunities for JMI alumni to train at Jordan Media Credibility Monitor "Akeed"

  • Training opportunities are available for JMI alumni at Jordan Media Credibility Monitor "Akeed", to develop their capabilities in the standards of good journalism, multimedia writing skills and verification of information and news.
  • The training period is for three (3) months and might be extended to another three (3) months, subject to the trainees’ commitment and evaluation.
