Conversation on Covering Wars and Conflict Zones

Nabih Bulos, correspondent of <em>Los Angeles Times</em> newspaper in the Middle East, met with MA students of journalism and new media at the Jordan Media Institute (JMI). They held a conversation on covering wars and conflict zones.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br /> Bulos spoke about his experience as a correspondent in armed conflict zones, specifically in Iraq and Syria, with a number of international media outlets. He highlighted the circumstances and challenges facing journalists in conflict zones, be it on the level of security and personal safety, access to information, or handling sources. He gave some examples of his work in covering conditions in Syria and Iraq. He noted that journalists who wish to work in war and conflict zones need to develop their professional capacities, tools, and ability to handle technology.&nbsp;
