Memorandum of Understanding Between JMI, IIMC

<strong>5 Mar. 2018&nbsp;</strong><br /> <br /> Amman- The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) and the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation, educational and academic exchange, and development of joint ventures, as well as organizing joint academic and scientific activities. The MoU was signed during the state visit by His Majesty King Abdullah II to India last week.<br /> <br /> The MoU aims at promoting cooperation, developing joint ventures, and organizing joint academic and scientific activities, such as training courses, conferences, seminars, and lectures. It also aims at exchanging staff and students, exchanging materials and publications of common interest, and implementing joint programs and plans that seek to enhance the role of media in development in the two countries.<br /> <br /> JMI Dean Professor Basim Tweissi said that the MoU is within a plan implemented by the JMI to approach centers of excellence in education and media training and build a network of relations to provide for the exchange of students and staff and the implementation of joint programs.<br /> <br /> He added that the IIMC enjoys international reputation. The JMI started relations of cooperation more than two years ago, including providing scholarships for JMI graduates to receive training in India and join the media and development diploma program.<br /> <br /> The MoU, which was signed in New Delhi recently, is for three years and can be renewed for another term based on mutual agreement.<br /> <br /> The IIMC was established in 1965. It offers a postgraduate diploma in journalism for developing countries. The IIMC sets global standards for media education and research, using the latest technologies to build a knowledge-based community.
