​Training Workshop at JMI for Staff of General Iftaa Department

10 Mar. 2018&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Amman- The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) and the General Iftaa Department held a training workshop on skills of presentation and television talk shows for the staff of the department. This is part of a cooperation program for training and building the capacities of the staff of the Iftaa Department in communication and media skills.<br /> <br /> The program of joint cooperation aims at developing the capacities of a number of employees at the Iftaa Department in presenting television talk shows, TV production, social media, principles of media literacy, and dealing with the media. This will enable employees to use these tools and present the moderate view of Islam as reflected in the Amman Message.<br /> <br /> Trainer Nihad Jariri said that &quot;the workshop is an introduction to developing strategies of mass communication through television and highlighting the preparation and presentation of TV talk shows. This includes TV production and conducting interviews in a professional manner&quot;.<br /> <br /> Tayseer Abu Haydar from the Iftaa Department, who participated in the workshop, said that the workshop offered the participants practical skills in a scientific manner on how to conduct television talk shows, dealing with the camera, and following the news in different and new ways. He added that &quot;we now have greater awareness of some concepts, which we might have known before. We have also gained new experiences from the trainers&quot;.<br /> <br /> The workshop, in which 11 employees of the Iftaa Department are taking part, is within a project funded by the EU and implemented by the GIZ.
