Amman - The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) wrapped up a five-day photography workshop that aimed at enhancing student digital photography skills.
The training, held in cooperation with the Norwegian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), covered practical exercises on outdoor photography that took place in rural areas in Al-Mafraq governorate as well as inside the capital Amman.
The trainer, Norwegian photography expert and trainer “Tom Egil”, gave students the tips and tricks for taking great press photos. He also touched on the ethics of the profession during the training, supervised by NIJ former director Frode Rekve.
Egil stressed the importance of “thinking of the photo before taking it” and the need for interaction between the photographer and the surrounding area. He also urged the MA students to unlock their imagination to give vividness and value to the photo. “Taking a picture is seeing something with your eyes then capturing that moment with a camera,” noted the expert.
It is worth noting that this is the fifth photography workshop organized in cooperation with the NIJ and conducted by Egil, a recipient of numerous photography awards.
