MA Thesis: Role of Jordan Television in Developing Cinematic Culture

Supervised by Dr. Jean Karam, Sandy Alasasfeh presented her thesis entitled "The Role of Jordan Television in Developing a Cinematic Culture: Studying the trends of Jordanian film-intellectuals" at the Jordan Media Institute (JMI) on Wednesday, November 15, 2018.
 
The thesis aims at identifying the role of Jordan Television (JTV) in shaping a cinematic culture from the standpoint of Jordanian intellectuals as well as presenting the opinion of film-intellectuals regarding the importance of JTV and its influence on cinematic culture.
 
The study used a ‘quantitative descriptive analysis’ method in surveying a group of 500 people which consisted of Jordanian filmmakers, cinema-experts, film-enthusiasts as well as members of associations, organizations and cultural unions.
 
The defense committee included: Dr. Ibrahim Al-Khasawneh, JMI Dean Dr. Basim Tweissi, Dr. Sakher Al-Khasawneh and the supervisor of the thesis, Dr. Jean Karam.
