Specialized Media Coverage Workshop at JMI

Amman – Jordan Media Institute (JMI) concluded a training workshop entitled "Specialized and Effective Media Coverage of Fiscal Decentralization, Macroeconomics, Public Finance and Public-Private Partnership".

The workshop came as third in a series of training courses held by JMI in cooperation with USAID-funded Jordan Fiscal Reform and Public Financial Management Project.

Project Director, Tareq Bakri, said that the workshop, which was attended by 13 journalists, aimed at empowering the participants within various economic journalism fields by providing them with the knowledge and information needed to read figures and use different tools to integrate creative and engaging styles like infographics and timelines."

Journalist Haitham Hassan described the workshop as involving "key and vital information for new journalists who specialize in covering economic stories, as it covered many of the terms and concepts of economy within a simplified approach that enables delivering information more clearly."

JMI held three training courses under the same project, which trained 38 journalists from various local media outlets.
