Project: Development of the National Population Media Strategy (2018–2022)

Objectives:

The goal of the project was to draft a five-year national population media strategy, from 2018 to 2022, in addition to an action plan for the first year of the strategy. It also aimed to train several journalists on the skills required to cover population issues.  

Project Description:

The project entailed:

  1. Developing the National Population Media Strategy (2018-2022)
  2. Presenting the first copy of the strategy to some journalists for feedback.
  3. Organizing workshops to create an action plan for the first year of the strategy.
  4. Formulating and implementing a training plan and training content for journalists.

Project Outputs:

  1. Publishing the first draft of the National Population Media Strategy (2018-2022)
  2. Completing the first draft of an action plan for the first year of the strategy.
  3. Organizing a training workshop on media planning for advocacy on population issues for several local journalists and media professionals.
  4. Publishing the final version of the National Population Media Strategy (2018–2022) and launching it in a ceremony organized by JMI and its partners on 13 May 2018.
