Community Media Training at Jordan Media Institute

Jordan Media Institute &ndash; Thursday 14<sup>th</sup> August 2014<br /> &nbsp;<br /> Jordan Media Institute concludes today hosting the workshop &ldquo;Community Media&hellip; towards a better community engagement&rdquo;, organized by USAID-funded Community Engagement Program.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> The workshops targeted journalists and media activists representing different media outlets from Irbid, Tafila, and Mafraq governorates.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> The workshops aimed at raising the capacities of the participants in using better communication tools and skills to engage with their local societies and empower the role of media in covering different issues of concern in those governorates.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> The two 2-day workshops focused on designing media campaigns to cover local news, methods of affective social media, and building relationships with the local communities that would benefit journalists, and finally skills of internet search and media sources. A session was dedicated to data journalism and the use of infographics and other tools that would polish the media practice and produce stories according to professional standards.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> This series of workshops is hosted by Jordan Media Institute and that works towards strengthening the quality of media industry and media education in Jordan.<br /> &nbsp;
