Amman -- Frédéric-Alexandre Talec, a French international specialist in developing digital media content, said that the digital revolution in the world of journalism requires quick adaptation by journalists to keep up with the fast developments and changes in competition, instruments, business models, and types of income.

In a lecture he delivered at the Jordan media Institute (JMI) titled "Digital Revolution and Technological Change: How To Develop New Sustainable Business Models," Frédéric-Alexandre Talec said that the marketing capacities of media projects emanate from the size of readership or members of the public following them. This is the main attraction point for advertisers or buyers of information.

The lecture is part of the "guest lecturers program." The JMI hosts a number of opinion leaders, decision-makers, and prominent journalists to give lectures to JMI students, in which they sum up their views of a number of topics.

The lecturer at l'Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme de Lille (ESJ Lille) asked journalists and people involved in new media to get to know the nature of the audience to whom their media message is addressed and to produce and broadcast material that has value in a professional manner to attract large numbers of them. This is in addition to turning the name of the media outlet into a trade mark.

He stressed the need for being aware of current market trends to explain and understand digital projects in the media sector. He added that the basis of this is how to apply diverse new strategies and build strong links between content and monetization models, besides smart cooperation between marketing and editing.

He said that in light of the economic changes and pressures that happen in editing rooms, it is important for editors and journalists who seek to make profit to realize profoundly the difference between what is happening now and what used to happen in the past in traditional old labor markets.

Yasar Durrah, director of training and projects at the JMI, moderated the lecture. At the end of the lecture, Frédéric-Alexandre Talec, who has 20 years of experience in media marketing and in the French press, answered questions by the attendees.

It is worth noting that the JMI has started receiving applications for the MA program in Journalism and New Media for the year 2017/2018 until 6 July.

For more information, please visit the website of the JMI www.jmi.edu.jo or call the following numbers + 962 6 5713304/6
