Today marks the end of a training workshop entitled” Fact-finding and Research for Human Rights Reporting” at Jordan Media Institute (JMI) which commenced on May 4th 2013 in cooperation with the German Embassy in Amman.<br />
<br />
The workshop provided training for 15 local journalists from Addustour, AlRai , JRTV, Farah Alnas, AlBalad, Hayat FM and Yarmouk radio Stations, in addition to Ammon and Hawa Jordan news websites.<br />
<br />
The training included topics on fact finding and verification of information, designing work methodologies, field work evaluation, and the legal aspects of the Journalistic fact finding and verification methods, under the supervision of field experts.<br />
<br />
The training aims to equip participants with tools and skills to investigate and report on human rights breaches and corruption issues. It also aims to contribute to raising awareness on human rights issues and the essential skills needed for reporting in making our society a better informed one and creating public awareness and creating a responsible debate on the issue.<br />
<br />
JMI’s goal is to bring about a new standard of journalism in Jordan and the region through its practical one year Master’s degree in Journalism and new media and the training courses and workshops aimed at people working in the media field at large. JMI is currently accepting admission applications to its Master’s program until June 13th 2013.</p>
