21 April 2016

Jordan Media Institute (JMI) and Al Jazeera Media Training and Development Center organized a workshop on television news presenting for more than a dozen participants from six Arab countries. The five-day sessions, which began on Sunday 17 April, were led by Al Jazeera veteran anchor Mohamed Krichen.

Participants from Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Oman, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia were briefed on the roles and responsibilities of an anchor in the studio and as part of the news production team. They made full use of JMI’s television studio and applied their skills in news writing, articulation, ways to conduct and manage different types of interviews during newscasts and how to monitor body language and deal with autocue and live events.

The workshop was part of a series organized by the two organizations as part of an agreement signed last year. The next workshops will be on training of trainers and video journalism.
