The screening of the film is meant to celebrate the International Day for Universal Access to Information, which is on 28 September. The film highlighted the political, economic, and cultural importance of enabling citizens to have access to information. Dr. Sakhr Khasawneh, lecturer at JMI, commented on the importance of this right and the legislative frameworks that regulate it. He said that Jordan enacted the first Access to Information Law in 2007, but that there are still many obstacles to access to information. The Jordanian Cabinet has approved numerous amendments to the law, but the Parliament has yet to endorse these amendments. A key amendment that is needed is to reduce the period of response to access to information and to remove any conflict between this law and any other law that prevents or restricts access to information.<br />
