JMI Offers 35 Scholarships in MA Program for Ninth Intake

Amman -- The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) has announced the start of submitting applications for the MA Program of Journalism and New Media for the ninth intake for the year 2017-2018, which is offered by the JMI, in cooperation with the University of Jordan.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> The JMI will offer 35 scholarships. Students admitted into the program, whether Jordanians or Arabs and from various academic specializations, can receive a full or partial scholarship based on the results of the written tests and the oral interview decided by the JMI.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Students who wish to apply can do that directly or fill out a form online via the JMI website &quot;www.jmi.edu.jo&quot; by 6 July 2017. Students residing outside the Kingdom can sit for the written test in their country of residence.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> JMI Dean Dr. Basim Tweissi said that the MA program, which is offered as part of two tracks, comprehensive and academic thesis, aims at graduating specialized and professional journalists who are equipped with advanced skills, specifically in digital journalism.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> He pointed out that the program applies advanced standards in quality of teaching based on balance between theory and practice and integrating technology of communication and digital applications. He indicated that the JMI is the first Arab educational institution to develop applied curricula in journalism, taking advantage of the elements of digital environment, besides focusing on building a strong knowledge and cultural foundation for students.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> The program, which includes activities and parallel lectures, also provides more opportunities for students to know about other aspects through guest lecturers that it hosts from all over the world. Each year, the JMI provides scientific study tours, including a group study tour and an individual tour.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> The JMI maintains contacts with its graduates and provides training opportunities for them in major international media establishments, such as MBC Group, CNN Arabic, BBC, Al Jazeera, and the Indian Institute of Journalism.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Dr. Tweissi urged journalists and media persons who wish to work in the field of media or others from various specializations to take advantage of this opportunity by applying and competing for admission and receiving a scholarship.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> To be admitted into the JMI, a student must be a holder of the first university degree (BA) in any specialization with an average of &quot;good&quot; or higher. &nbsp;He must also pass the TOEFL or national examination in line with the principles decided by the Council of Deans at the University of Jordan after passing the admission tests prepared by the JMI.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Those wishing to apply can view samples of these tests on the JMI website.<br /> Conditions of Admission: <a href="https://bit.ly/1Ch4ban" target="_blank">bit.ly/1Ch4ban</a><br /> Application Form: <a href="https://bit.ly/1Y5HZwk" target="_blank">bit.ly/1Y5HZwk</a><br /> &nbsp;
