JMI Organizes Symposium on 'Understanding Yemen: Geography, Conflict and Transformations'

6 Mar. 2018&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Amman -&nbsp;On Wednesday, 7 March 2018, the Jordan Media Institute (JMI) will organize a symposium titled &quot;Understanding Yemen: Geography, Conflict and Transformations&quot; with the aim of providing greater understanding to media persons, researchers, and opinion leaders in Jordan of developments in Yemen scientifically and independently.<br /> <br /> A number of Yemeni writers, politicians, and thinkers from various trends will speak at the symposium about a number of themes, including geography, history of conflict, main actors, and how the media shaped the image of Yemen. They will also tackle media coverage of the conflict in Yemen and the role of media in this conflict, as well as the questions raised about the Ansar Allah movement, the events in South Yemen, secession and unity, and development and humanitarian conditions.<br /> <br /> The symposium comes to highlight current thorny issues in Yemen at a time when the country is suffering from war, instability, and lack of development and modernization. It is also an attempt to look at the scene in a clearer, neutral, and objective manner.<br /> <br /> The one-day symposium will host guests from Yemen, including Dr. Abdullah Hamidaddin, Dr. Murad Al-Azzani, Dr. Khaled Fattah, Yousef, Hamidaddin, Abdulmalik Al-Ejri, Adnan Mohammed Al-Kaf, and Abdulnaser Al-Muwadea.
