JMI Students on Study Trip to Sweden

19 March 2015<br /> <br /> Jordan Media Institute students will start a week-long trip to Sweden on Friday, 20 March 2015 organized by the Swedish branch of Reporters Without Borders (RWB) in cooperation with the Swedish Postcode Lottery Culture Foundation.<br /> <br /> The 22 students&nbsp;of the master&rsquo;s degree comprehensive track&nbsp;will visit several print and broadcast media organizations in Stockholm and meet with representatives of RWB and the Association&nbsp;for Investigative Journalism, and will undertake a campaign to promote Jordan, namely touristic and cultural sights.<br /> <br /> A group of the students will undergo three days of survival training at a camp in Skovde, while the rest will resume their program in the capital with workshops on visual journalism, net security and others. They will also meet with the Swedish Minister of Culture and Democracy Alice Bah Kuhnke and several leading journalists and reporters.<br /> <br /> The trip is part of an agreement signed by JMI and the two Swedish organizations to develop the skills of Jordanian journalists and JMI students. It is also the second step in their joint project &ldquo;Journalism in Conflict&rdquo;.
