JMI Takes Part in Training More Than 100 Students at Al Hussein Youth Camps

<span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:12.8px">7/29/2017</span><br /> The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) held two training workshops on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) at the female scout camp in the Amman House for Youth. The training included 58 female students aged 12 to 16. Another training session was held at the Saru House for Youth. It included 58 students aged 14 to 18.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> The training covered elements of verifying and dismantling news, knowing its sources, distinguishing it from rumors, and verifying pictures. A part of the training was devoted to ethics of publishing of pictures and the privacy of victims. This is in addition to training on the principles of handling social media and how to use it and protection and safety on these sites.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> This training is conducted based on a partnership between the JMI and the Ministry of Youth to disseminate MIL concepts and skills to this important and large segment of Jordanian society. The training was given by Abdullah Kafaween and Mohammed Khamaiseh.&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;
