The Jordan Media Institute and the Jordan Environment Society signed a memorandum of understanding in which the two parties agreed to cooperate in the field of building national capacities in the environmental and media sector, and to participate in organizing and holding training workshops, conferences, and seminars in various environmental and media fields, by launching a specialized training program in the field of environmental media through which Training on the role of media and the environment in achieving sustainable development goals, in addition to organizing awareness campaigns at the local and Arab levels in the field of environmental preservation.

The Acting Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Husbani pointed out the importance that environmental issues occupy in today's world at various economic, political, demographic, and media levels, as environmental and climate issues have become among the main subjects that the media are interested in, and wide areas are allocated to them in their coverage.

For his part, the President of the Environment Society, journalist Ali Al-Fraihat, said that intensifying effort with a leading institution in the field of training and building media capabilities help present environmental problems to a level that prompts all segments of society to participate in protecting and defending their environment, in front of the serious threats affecting its environmental system security and stability.
