The project is focused on the role of youth leadership and debate in strengthening resilience and promoting socio-economic participation.

The participants, who will also visit Jordanian media, cultural, business and entrepreneurial organizations, will meet with journalists from Europe and the MENA region who are nominees of the “Anna Lindh Mediterranean Journalist Award for Reporting Across Cultures”. Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Ali, founder of JMI, will chair the international jury of experts.

The five-day program will combine innovative methodologies to support the participants to work together in a fresh and exciting way, with a focus on tackling a common challenge relevant to societies to the south and north of the Mediterranean. The challenge for this training will be: How can we make a step change in the ability of young leaders to get their messages across?

The rich experience will help the young participants, aged 18-30, grow as leaders and ambassadors for dialogue, by exposing them to new approaches to advocacy and communication. The sessions and visits will also help them build social capital, grow their media skills, develop their influencing and advocacy skills, enhance and stretch their analytical and creative skills and develop their cultural intelligence.

The program is also organized by Common Purpose in partnership with the British Council, UNESCO (through the EU-funded Networks of Mediterranean Youth project, NET-MED Youth) and the World Leadership Alliance-Club de Madrid. Club de Madrid member and former prime minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zlatko Lagumdzija will also meet with the young emerging leaders during the program.
