Amman – “If I had hosted variety shows, I would have been the most famous anchorperson in the Arab World,” said Lebanese TV presenter Ricardo Karam while describing his career during the lecture he gave on Wednesday at the Jordan Media Institute (JMI).

The Lebanese presenter said that his professional experience revolved around maintaining authenticity and delivering the truth while steering away from commercial competition. Karam stressed that he presented a media pattern that suits his character, adding that “anyone who tries to copy others doesn’t succeed and that is why I chose shows that present quality, depth and seeks the truth.”.

Karam called on the students to be pioneers and not to wait for a job that limits their aspirations; “Journalism is a way of life and continuous passion and a journalist must always look for the truth without pertaining to a certain party in order to be able to deliver valuable content.”

On the reasons behind the fame and wide outreach of his shows, Karam added that shedding the light on unique cases of Arab achievers, who are unknown to the public, has always been his goal. “Focusing on Arab youth achievers who are worthy of support can change the stigma of the Arab youth. In addition, interviewing high-level leaders from all over the world has equally contributed to the success.”

Ricardo Karam is a Lebanese TV presenter who produced many shows in which he hosted high-level personnel both regionally and internationally. He established his production company “RK Productions” which handles the production of all his programmes and documentaries. Furthermore, he founded the Takreem Institution which highlights Arab achievements in different fields.
