Photo Journalism workshop by Mia Gröndahl at Jordan Media Institute

Amman, 14 November 2012 A five-Day Workshop in photojournalism commenced at JMI-Jordan Media Institute today. The Internationally renowned Swedish Photojournalist, Mia Gorndahl known for her work in hot spots in the Middle East since the early eighties will run the workshop which is attended by forty JMI students and photojournalists from different national newspapers. Mia Grondahl has a number of published works such as Gaza Graffiti: Messages of Love and Politics, In Hope and Despair: Life in the Palestinian Refugee Camp and Tahrir Square: The Heart of the Egyptian. The Workshop will focus on field work and reflecting the pulse of the street and the people. In a brief address to the participants she said “The question is not what you look at but what you see”. In a comment on the workshop, Dr. Mohammad Hussein Al Momani, Dean of Jordan Media Institute said “we aim with our partners to offer high quality trainings where participants can apply what they learn in their daily work”. An exhibition of the photos taken during the workshop will be exhibited on Sunday 25th November at Ras El Ein Gallery from 24 – 30 November 2012
