Amman -- The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) held two training sessions over the course of two days on "New Digital Media and Video Journalism," in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Amman. JMI students and a number of journalists from various Jordanian media establishments attended the two sessions.<br />

Jigar Mehta, vice president of Fusion Media Group, spoke about his experience in digital media and video journalism, developing and creating video content, and adopting new and different techniques in modern media.<br />
<br />
Mehta, one of the most prominent developers of digital media, discussed a number of digital tools that benefit journalists in their work. He spoke about the elements of innovation in developing digital media content. The participants in the training offered ideas on new methods to deliver journalistic content and projects in video journalism.<br />
<br />
The training is within the context of the cultural exchange program, which is financed by the U.S. State Department, with the aim of hosting U.S. experts to present their experiences to Jordanian participants in various fields, such as media, technology, and others.<br />
<br />
Jigar Mehta is vice president of Fusion Media Group. His team focuses on social strategy, audience development, data analysis, and creating new video experiences for Fusion website and on Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat. He led engagement at the social media platform of AJ+, did video journalism for The New York Times, and was co-creator of a documentary online titled "18 Days in Egypt." He is a Knight Journalism Fellow.
