A group of 20 students from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) and University of Babylon have visited Jordan Media Institute (JMI) to learn about the institute’s activities and projects.

The students toured JMI facilities, including the TV and radio studios and newsrooms which use the latest technologies. They were also introduced to JMI pioneering experience in offering specialized media training as well as its MA programs in journalism and modern media.

The guest students also met with JMI students, which served as a valuable opportunity for exchanging views and ideas on various issues in the region.

Project coordinator “Alex Ray” said the visit falls under efforts to promote interaction between students from outside the Arab region and Arab students. This, he explained, would help foreigners get a more realistic picture about the Arab world in general and Jordan in particular. He noted that such knowledge would encourage foreign students to revisit the region to conduct further research or pursue their studies.

The visit is part of a program implemented in three UK universities and two Australian universities since 2012.
