A group of twenty journalists from various press agencies and media outlets took part in a three-day training workshop at Jordan Media Institute (JMI) aimed at improving their storytelling techniques.
During the workshop, held in cooperation with the EU and Open Media Hub, examples of TV storytelling were presented and their distinctive features discussed with trainers Raghida Bahinam and Simon Hastings.
Organizers said the workshop seeks to build the capacity of journalists and equip them with creative tools to help them produce news stories that are more appealing to the audience and which can bring about change.
Head of the Political Section at the EU Delegation to Jordan Egidijus Navikase said the EU-funded project reflects the EU commitment to support the media sector in Jordan, and to build national capacities.
According to Hasting, a photo editing expert, the course is designed to help enhance the skills and experiences of journalists.
In due course, JMI provided participants will all the equipment and tools they need to produce stories, noted the expert, adding that the work of each participant was then evaluated with feedback given.
